Complete Exercise on page 10 (Read the directions!) Remember to type final draft with title.
Review Grammar Rules 1a-f in the Resource Notebook pg 56 and 58.
Complete Grammar Rules Worksheet on pg 57 and 59.
Begin reading "The Last of the Mohicans". The book has 33 chapters and you have 4 weeks so try to get through at least 8 chapters per week. Remember to annotate as you read.

New School Year 2010-2011

Welcome to Advanced English. This is a 2 semester course covering American Literature and Composition based on U.S. History resources. Assignments are expected to by typed, double-spaced, 12 pt. font. Header will include Name, Date, Class. Assignments will be turned in on time. We will use the IEW U.S. History-Based Writing Lessons, Vol. 2. Our literature selections for the 1st semester are:
"The Last of the Mohicans" by James Fenimore Cooper (complete by Sept. 14, 2010)
"Rip VanWinkle", "The Legend of Sleepy Hollw" by Washington Irving and "SelectedWorks" Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (complete by Oct. 19, 2010)
"The House of Seven Gables" by Nathaniel Hawthorne (complete by Nov. 30, 2010)
"The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" by Mark Twain (complete by Jan. 4, 2011)
